Children’s Birthday Party in Planning

When it is time for your child’s birthday party, you need to set a budget before you start your planning. The last thing you want to do is get yourself into too much debt for the sake of a party, especially in these current times of uncertainty. So sit down with a sheet of paper and plan the birthday party out. children birthday party celebration with eventsbot

Make a list of all the main things you may need for a party and estimate how much they would cost. Put your list in order of priority. If you are going for a particular birthday theme you need to allow extra for this. Go through the list again and cross out anything that won’t be missed. Depending on the age of your child and your budget, where you hold your party is the next consideration.

Children under school age would be happy with a party at home which would help to keep the cost down. Alternatively you could hire a soft play area in a local leisure centre if your budget can stretch. You may have to pay a set fee to hire this facility or sometimes it is on a per head basis and usually you still have to provide the food yourself. Holding the party at home would be a cheaper choice as you can provide games and entertainment yourself.

School-age children are still happy to party at home rather than not have a party at all, but as they get older and go to more friends’ birthday parties they begin to want to explore other options such as McDonalds or Pizza Hut or even bowling or ice skating. The choice, as always, comes down to money and your budget.

So once you have decided on a venue, go back to your main list and add or subtract items from it to make sure you will be able to comfortably afford the birthday party, without too much trouble, before you book it.

Most children are interested in a particular character or television show and you could probably plan the birthday theme of the party around this. But bear in mind that this will increase your costs. Don’t go overboard – remember you have a budget to stick to. Keep it simple. There is no need to have every single thing in character – you could have plain balloons or plates then have character cups, napkins and decorations.

Planning your budget and sticking to it is paramount. If you are careful you can make your money stretch that little bit further. Don’t get carried away too much by trying to impress other parents. You have a budget and you need to make sure you stick to it!

As long as your child is made to feel special on their birthday and they, along with their friends, are having fun that is all that matters.
